Training the Whistle Recall by Pam Dennison

Training the Whistle Recall
Pam Dennison

Coming when called is probably the most important behavior you can teach your dog. Not only will you have the security and freedom to be able to walk him off leash (where allowed please); it may just save his life one day. Using a whistle to call your dog is valuable in case you have poisoned your verbal come cue in the past and need to develop a new signal or if you just want a long range loud signal. The whistle is also useful if you have an older dog that may have some hearing loss.

This DVD was the winner of the 2009 Maxwell Award for Best Video. It is menu driven and outlines a five-week program for training your dog to come to a whistle. These easy steps can be incorporated into your daily routine. And yes, even your breed of dog can learn to come with eagerness and speed!
